The "MIGHTY" Southern Region

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is organized into eight regions, with our chapter belonging to the Mighty Southern Region. Established in 1929, the region was formed under the leadership of Roberta F. Bell (Sims), who organized chapters in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. Due to rapid growth, all states except Texas and Louisiana were later reassigned to other regions.
The Southern Region has produced four Past International Presidents: Lullelia Walker Harrison (12th), Isabel Morgan Herson (16th), Dr. Barbara West Carpenter (21st), and Mary Breaux Wright (24th), whose leadership continues to shape the region.
The Mighty Southern Region has introduced notable programs like the Blue Revue Scholarship, Finer Womanhood Program, and the Zeta Amicae Auxiliary. Today, the Zetas, Amicae, and Youth remain committed to Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood under the leadership of Rhetta Washington McCoy.
